1. Kalaignarin All Village Integrated Agriculture Development Programme (KAVIADP)
Objective:
To bring fallow lands under cultivation and increase the cultivable area by creating new water sources.
Components:
Creation of water sources (Borewell/Tubewell) for identified clusters in non-irrigated areas.
Construction of farm ponds.
Desilting and improvement works of Panchayat Union MI tanks, Ooranies, ponds, and supply channels.
Funding: 100% subsidy for all components.
2. Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) – Har Khet Ko Pani (HKKP)
Objective:
To enhance access to irrigation and improve water use efficiency.
Components:
Groundwater irrigation development.
Micro-irrigation systems.
Subsidy:
Varies based on component and farmer category.
3. Agricultural Mechanisation Programme
Objective:
To promote the use of modern agricultural machinery.
Components:
Subsidized hire services for tractors, bulldozers, and combine harvesters.
Eligibility: All categories of farmers.
4. Land Development Scheme
Objective:
To improve land productivity through development activities.
Components:
Land shaping, leveling, reclamation, ploughing, puddling, and paddy harvesting.
Implementation:
Machinery hired out to farmers at government-approved rates.
5. National Agriculture Development Programme (NADP)
Objective:
To promote agricultural development through various interventions.
Components:
Agricultural mechanization.
Dry land development.
Establishment of land resources inventory and GIS database.
Coverage: All districts except Chennai.
6. World Bank Aided Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project (TN IAMP)
Objective:
To improve irrigation infrastructure and water management.
Components:
Construction of farm ponds.
Subsidy: Rs.75,000 with Rs.25,000 as farmer’s contribution.
7. Soil and Water Conservation in Catchments of River Valley Project
Objective:
To conserve soil and water resources in river valley catchments.
Implementation:
Carried out by the Agricultural Engineering Department.
8. Minor Irrigation Scheme
Objective:
To develop minor irrigation sources for agriculture.
Components:
Construction and maintenance of minor irrigation structures.
9. Organic Farming Schemes
Objective:
To promote organic farming practices.
Components:
Production and distribution of green manure seeds with 25% subsidy.
Distribution of bio-fertilizers like Rhizobium, Azospirillum, and Phosphobacteria.
Production of NPV for pest control in cotton.
10. Tamil Nadu Small Farmers Agri-business Consortium (TNSFAC)
Objective:
To link small farmers to technologies and markets.
Components:
Venture capital assistance.
Project development facility.
Eligibility:
Farmers, producer groups, agri-entrepreneurs, and agricultural graduates.
11. Uzhavar Santhaigal (Farmers' Markets)
Objective:
To provide direct market access to farmers.
Implementation:
Establishment of farmers' markets in urban areas.
12. Tamil Nadu Millet Mission Scheme
Objective:
To promote millet cultivation and consumption.
Duration:
2023-2024 to 2027-2028.
Coverage:
Two millet special zones encompassing 25 districts.
Budget:
Rs.65.30 crore for 2024-25.
13. Kuruvai Special Package Scheme
Objective:
To support Kuruvai paddy cultivation.

14. Precision Farming Project under NADP

In focus and non-focus districts with support from TNAU and other departments.
15. Kudimaramathu Scheme
Objective:
To restore minor irrigation tanks and lakes with community participation.
Implementation:
Carried out by the Water Resources Department, Tamil Nadu.
16. Chief Minister’s Mannuyir Kaathu Mannuyir Kaapom Scheme
Objective:
Promote organic farming and soil health.
Allocation: ₹142 crore.
Components:
Encouraging green manure cultivation.
Promoting soil-friendly practices.
Enhancing organic farming techniques.
17. Alternative Crop Cultivation Scheme
Objective: Encourage crop diversification.
Coverage: 1 lakh acres.

Objective: Provide financial protection against crop loss.
Coverage: 35 lakh acres.
Allocation: ₹841 crore.
24. Seed Infrastructure Development
Objective:
Enhance seed production and distribution.

₹250 crore for developing seed farms.
₹15.05 crore for establishing seven seed processing units.
25. Farm Mechanization Initiatives
Objective:
Promote the use of modern agricultural machinery.
Allocation: ₹215.80 crore.
Beneficiaries: 17,000 farmers.

Distribution of 7,900 power tillers and 6,000 power weeders.
Procurement of 603 agricultural machines for hire through the e-Vaadagai mobile app.

26. Tamil Nadu Cashew Board
Objective: Support cashew farmers and related communities.
Allocation: ₹10 crore.
27. Solar-Powered Pumpset Scheme
Objective:
Provide solar-powered pumpsets to farmers.
Allocation: ₹24 crore.
Beneficiaries:
1,000 farmers to receive pumpsets with 70% subsidy for small, marginal, SC, and ST farmers, and 60% for others.
28. Uzhavar Pathukappu Thittam (Farmers' Protection Scheme)
Objective:
Enhance financial assistance for farmers in case of death or disability.
Benefits:
Accidental death: Increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh.
Accident-related disabilities: Increased from ₹20,000 to ₹1 lakh.
Natural death: Increased from ₹20,000 to ₹30,000.
Funeral expenses: Increased from ₹2,500 to ₹10,000.
29. Sugarcane Farmers Special Incentive
Objective:
Provide additional financial support to sugarcane farmers.
Incentive:
₹349 per metric tonne for the 2024–25 crushing season.
Allocation:
₹297 crore, benefiting 1.30 lakh farmers.
State Horticulture Schemes & Initiatives
1. Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) – National Horticulture Mission (NHM)
Objective:
To promote holistic growth of the horticulture sector.
Components:
Area expansion of horticultural crops.
Production and distribution of quality planting material.
Post-harvest management and marketing infrastructure.
Funding Pattern:
60% by Government of India and 40% by Government of Tamil Nadu.
2. Integrated Horticulture Development Scheme (IHDS)
Objective:
Increase area under horticulture crops.
Components:
Minor fruit crops (e.g., Rambutan, Litchi): ₹30,000 per hectare subsidy.
Traditional fruit & vegetable cultivars: ₹15,000 per hectare subsidy.
Dryland crops (e.g., Jamun, Amla): ₹20,000 per hectare subsidy.
Vegetable seed kit distribution: ₹10 per kit, up to 6 kits per family.
3. Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) – Micro Irrigation
Objective:
To enhance water use efficiency through micro-irrigation technologies.
Components:
Installation of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems.
Subsidy:
Small and marginal farmers: 50% by GOI and 40% by GOTN.
Other farmers: 50% by GOI and 35% by GOTN.
4. Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH)
Objective:
Holistic growth of the horticulture sector.
Coverage:
Fruits, vegetables, spices, flowers, aromatic plants, coconut, cashew, cocoa, and bamboo.
Funding:
60% by the Government of India and 40% by State Governments.
5. National Agriculture Development Programme (NADP) – Horticulture Initiatives
Components:
Onion Development Scheme: ₹20,000 per hectare subsidy.
Assistance for organic cultivation in vegetables: ₹2,500–₹3,750 per hectare.
Establishment of permanent pandal systems: ₹2 lakh per hectare subsidy.
6. National Bamboo Mission
Objective:
To promote the holistic development of the bamboo sector.
Components:
Area expansion under bamboo cultivation.
Establishment of nurseries and tissue culture labs.

Funding: 100% by Government of India.
7. National Mission on Medicinal Plants
Objective:
To promote the cultivation of medicinal plants.

8. Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization and Water-Bodies Restoration and Management (TN-IAMWARM)

Restoration of water bodies.
Promotion of water-saving technologies.
Funding Pattern:
70% by World Bank and 30% by Government of Tamil Nadu.
9. Jasmine Cultivation Promotion
Objective: Enhance jasmine farming.
Allocation: ₹1.6 crore.
Coverage: 3,000 acres.
Beneficiaries: 7,000 farmers.
10. Spices and Condiments Scheme
Objective: Promote cultivation of spices and condiments.
Allocation: ₹11.74 crore.
Coverage: 17,500 acres.
Beneficiaries: 23,000 farmers.
11. Traditional Vegetable Varieties Promotion
Objective:
Encourage cultivation of traditional vegetables.
Allocation: ₹2.4 crore.
Coverage: 2,500 acres.
Beneficiaries: 7,000 farmers.
Crops:
Manaparrai Kathari, Tharuvai Thakkali, Anaikomban Vendai, Siragu Avarai.
12. Onion Storage Infrastructure
Objective:
Prevent onion price surges through better storage.
Allocation: ₹18 crore.
Infrastructure: 36,000 MT storage structures.
Beneficiaries: 1,000 farmers.
13. Micro Irrigation Expansion
Objective: Enhance water use efficiency.
Allocation: ₹1,168 crore.
Coverage: 3 lakh acres.
Beneficiaries: 1.3 lakh farmers.
